Consists of four segments:

1. Introduction to patient safety and prevalence of patient safety in the global context
2. Nurses’ role in promoting patient safety and eliminating avoidable harm
3. Interlinkage of patient safety and nurse safety
4. Implementation of patient safety with case studies

At the end of the patient safety module, learners will be able to:

1. Explain what patient safety is
2. Understand the importance of patient safety and nurse safety
3. Understand concepts and impacts of patient safety
4. Explain the role of nurses to eliminate avoidable harm
5. Describe examples of strengthening patient safety and nurse safety
